ABOUT
Haris is a screenwriter and filmmaker from Sydney.
Haris made his writing debut in The Boy Who Was Afraid of Everything a five by seven web-series he co-wrote and produce whilst also playing the lead character of Ali. The project was a selection at SeriesFest in 2024 where it won the Audience Award for Best Comedy as well as jury award for Best Directing and Best Performance. He is currently in development for a longer form television show of the web-series.
He is currently in post-production for his first feature film ‘Haven’t You Heard? Everyone Hates Me’ which is a coming of age comedy. Haris has also worked in writers rooms for some of Australia’s leading production companies in television shows for networks including;Netflix, Stan, and Binge.
As a writer, Haris is mostly drawn to telling character-driven stories that often look into themes of grief, mental health, family, and discovery – whilst finding the levity in these situations. He hopes to create feel-good stories that leave audiences in a better place.
